WAOC Training Schedule

This page gives details of the latest training schedule as of 10th May 2003.

Every Thursday evening a group of us meet at varying locations around Cambridge to go for a training run. We meet at 6:30pm and run for about 45 minutes often off road. We have a mail list which is used to inform members of where to meet each week. If you wish to belong to this mail list please contact Julia Wotton to be added.

Local Training Events

Saturday 7th June 2003 - Ampthill Town Park after the Limited Colour Coded there will be some fun training courses, hopefully including Radio-O.

Training Weekends

Each year I organise a training weekend in an area such as the Lake District or Wales where the orienteering is more challenging than in East Anglia. I organise Youth Hostel style accommodation for typically up to 20 people, although people are welcome to find their own accommodation should they desire. Any one is welcome although it is best that you have some experience of orienteering. The typical cost is £30 per adult and £15 per child.

29th-31st August 2003 - training weekend in the Lake District

This year the training weekend is 29th-31st August. Training will be on Saturday and Sunday, on High Dam and possibly Bigland. We will be staying in a chalet in Great Tower Wood on the side of Lake Windermere.

The cost will be about £30. If you are interested in coming please contact Julia Wotton by the end of June.
