Try-O Event

Therfield Heath, Royston

This is a "Try-Orienteering" event for those new to orienteering with a range of courses from short and easy to medium length and difficulty. There will also be two longer courses for more experienced orienteers. Help and advice will be offered to newcomers (or anyone else who needs it).

Registration: 10.00 to 12.00
Starts: 10.30 to 12.30
Courses: White, yellow, orange, light green.
There will also be a blue and a score course for more experienced orienteers.
Fees: Adults   £3
Under 21’s   £1
Groups   £4
Directions: The car park is next to the Heath Sports Club, Baldock Road, Royston, grid ref .

From the west, take the A505 towards Royston, take the second exit at the first roundabout outside Royston (signposted Therfield and Kelshall) and the sports club is about 1.5km along this road on the right.

From the north or east, to avoid going through the middle of Royston take the A505 towards Baldock, when you get to the roundabout after the Little Chef take the first exit (signposted Therfield and Kelshall). The sports club is about 1.5km along on the right.

We will be using electronic punching. SI cards will be available to borrow free of charge but please bring your own if you have one, as we only have a limited number.

Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a lead as there will be sheep on part of the Heath.

The Heath Sports Club is open to the public so you can get refreshments and food there.

All competitors take part at their own risk.

Data Protection Act: Entry information (name, age-class and club) and the results of this event will be stored on and processed by computer systems under the terms of the British Orienteering Federation's registration under the Data Protection Act. The results from this event will be published on the Internet.
