St Ives Galoppen

Starts 6-7pm from the bridge chapel (), in the mediaeval market town of St Ives (or Slepe, before the ecclesiastical entrepreneurs dug up a Roman coffin...) and paths on the surrounding flood meadows (if the river behaves itself 'tweentimes).

Parking either on the bridge south of the Dolphin Hotel (at the Hemingford end, accessed from the Vindis roundabout), or the St Ives carparks should be free after 6pm. There is only one ancient bridge in the town over the Ouse. When the new bypass bridge was designed in the 20th century, they forgot to include a chapel ...

Course will be a 45 minute street/alley/park/meadow-score, on a new 1:5000 map, based on the Urban-O standard. Controls visited using map-memory will attract a bonus. Penalty 1 control per minute late. No extra prizes for numerological coincidences. There will also be a suggested simple linear course for any who don't want to tackle the score. Controls will be permanent features - but not lamp posts.

Entry £2/£1. Please bring a pen and a map bag.
